JPMorgan Downgrades 725 from $825
Analyst comments: "We believe full-stack AI competition is intensifying and Meta has a more challenging path to returns on heavy AI capex beyond advertising.
Most notably, Google and Amazon are seeing strong cloud revenue acceleration, with Google Cloud backlog almost doubling quarter-over-quarter, and AWS backlog increasing +50% quarter-over-quarter. We believe both provide a line of sight toward multi-year ROIC across AI capex as Google and Amazon benefit from deep enterprise tech stack integrations, silicon supply, and model diversity.
META raised its 2026 capex guide by 125B-202B in 2027, resulting in negative FCF of -24B in 2027. More near-term, META will continue to optimize AI-driven ad ranking and recommendation and tech gains, grow engagement, and deliver strong revenue growth. However, revenue growth will likely decelerate through 2026, driven by tougher year-over-year comps, Middle East conflict headwinds, Europe LPA implementation, and FX.
For now, we’re moving to Neutral-rated and believe shares could remain pressured as investors look for greater clarity on agentic products and how Muse models will help drive incremental revenue beyond advertising. Our 34.01.
The release of Muse Spark represents the first step toward META’s goal of pushing the frontier and delivering personal superintelligence to billions of users, with the MSL team already training more advanced models. The rollout of Muse to Meta AI drove double-digit increases in Meta AI sessions per user and Muse demonstrates strong capabilities across visual understanding, health, shopping, social content, creating games, and more.
While Meta AI currently represents a powerful AI assistant, META is focused on building personal and business agents that can take action to help consumers and businesses achieve their goals. We believe compute capacity is critical to determining the quality of models and products it can develop, and META increased full-year capex guidance by 125B-$145B largely due to higher component costs, including memory.
AI-driven engagement and monetization improvements continue to support strong top-line growth. Video in particular fueled record engagement across Facebook and Instagram in 1Q, as ranking improvements drove +8%+ increases in total video time spent on Facebook and +10% increases in time spent on Instagram Reels.
META continues to simplify campaign creation and management for advertisers, with more than 4 million advertisers using at least one Gen AI creative tool and strong adoption of META’s Value Optimization suite.
Other notable points include META seeing improving trends in April, with 2Q guide factors in a range of scenarios; Europe LPA rollout is expected to pressure revenue beginning in 2Q; AI glasses continue to perform well with daily users tripling year-over-year in 1Q; and META confirmed plans to reduce headcount in May, though 2026 savings will likely be offset by restructuring costs and cloud deals."

MC Interview: AI to be a major growth driver; executing rapidly, says Infosys CEO Salil Parekh
Infosys shares came under pressure last week, declining 7 percent on Friday after the company reported its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings.
The company’s FY27 revenue growth guidance of 1.5–3.5 percent fell short of Street expectations, pointing to another year of subdued growth for both Infosys and the broader IT sector amid macro uncertainties and the evolving impact of AI.
In an interview with Moneycontrol, CEO and MD Salil Parekh struck an optimistic note on the company’s growth prospects.
Parekh said Infosys’ AI-led strategy is gaining traction and is expected to support enterprise transformation. He also ruled out layoffs, unlike some industry peers, and reiterated that the company will remain disciplined on deal-making, avoiding contracts with unsustainable pricing or weak economics.

It’s time to demystify Mythos.
Mythos is not magic. It’s not a doomsday device. It’s the first of many models that can automate cyber tasks (just like coding).
OpenAI’s GPT-5.5-cyber can now do the same. And all the frontier models (including those from China) will be there within approximately 6 months.
It’s important to recognize that these models do not create vulnerabilities; they discover them. The bugs are already in the code. Using AI to discover and patch them will actually harden these systems.
The leap from pre-AI cyber to post-AI cyber means that there will be a big upgrade cycle. After that, however, the market is likely to reach a new equilibrium between AI-powered cyber-offense and AI-powered cyber-defense.
Obviously it’s important that cyber defenders get access before cyber attackers. That process is already underway but needs to happen quickly (see point above about Chinese models).
Unlike Mythos, GPT-5.5-cyber appears not to be token constrained so it may be the first cyber model that defenders actually get to use.\n\nQT @AISecurityInst: OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 is the second model to complete one of our multi-step cyber-attack simulations end-to-end 🧵 https://t.co/eQWYbYaa6w

since sf is a cesspool of tech talent, ai will create permament underclass via replacing high ego tech talent on ai
in short, sf will kill themselves with their own gun first\n\nQT @jasminewsun: Most people I know in AI think the median person is screwed, and they have no idea what to do about it.
I spent the last 3 months talking to dozens of researchers, economists, and policy experts about AI's impact on work; including reps from every frontier lab and several Congressional offices. Unfortunately, I was not reassured.
The AI industry is raising the alarm, but can't change course. These companies' core business model relies on the disruption they are warning about: their faith in full automation only makes them go faster.
Policymakers are waking up, but still paralyzed by data and debates. Econ wonks disagree on plenty, but even the limited scenario looks like a "painful transition" that will disempower millions of workers.
But an "underclass" is not inevitable, but rather a societal choice — and one we can and should stop. Instead of waiting for impact, we should start planning now to support workers through AI disruption. Whether policymakers can assuage concerns about economic security may determine if we get to reap AI's gains at all.

Codex was a coding agent. Today it's a general work surface.
Look at the role picker: Engineering, Product, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Design, Data science, Student. The coding tool just became the work tool.
This is OpenAI building a harness layer on top of their own model. Anthropic ran the same play first with Claude Code. Wrap the model in file access, multi-step planning, tool calling, app connections. The work shifts from typing into a chat box to delegating to an agent.
900M weekly active users on ChatGPT, and 75% of conversations are non-work. Codex is targeted at the other 25%, where most sessions stall around step two or three.

Time published a piece.
Google’s AI position came from a long series of early bets by Sundar Pichai on DeepMind, TPUs, cloud infrastructure, and AI products, not from a last-minute reaction to ChatGPT.
Google’s biggest strength in AI is its full-stack control of research, chips, cloud, products, and distribution across billions of users.
"Critics once underestimated CEO Sundar Pichai. Now, critics wonder if he’s made Google too powerful"
Google just secured absolute architectural control over the AI landscape by merging its custom physical silicon manufacturing directly with a single unified research laboratory.
Competitors pay steep financial premiums for external chips while Google seamlessly executes complex neural calculations on its proprietary Tensor Processing Units.
Building internal hardware allows engineers to aggressively scale pretraining, the critical phase where models ingest massive datasets, without facing crushing financial overhead.

Starcloud (@Starcloud_) CEO @PhilipJohnston says if you want to build a new energy project to power a data centre on Earth you're looking at a 5 to 10 year lead time just on permitting:
"Not many people want a new natural gas power station or if you want to cover 10km2 of countryside with solar panels, there's a lot of people that's going to piss off."
"The quickest way to deploy new energy projects for data centres will soon be building them in space".
"The main constraint we have right now is the launch cost. And with the new Starship launch vehicle that's coming online, we're expecting that to be much less of a constraint going forward".\n\nQT @etnshow: BREAKING: Starcloud has raised a 1.1B valuation to build data centres in space.
CEO and founder @PhilipJohnston says: "The AI revolution is colliding with the physical limits of our terrestrial energy grid".
"We are quickly running out of places to build new energy projects for data centers on Earth. By moving AI compute to space, we unlock access to unlimited solar power and completely remove the energy bottleneck".
@Starcloud_'s Series A, which closed 17 months after its demo day presentation, was led by @benchmark and @eqt.
