AI is moving off the demo stage and into the engine room, where infrastructure, reliability, and security determine what actually ships.

Open-source agent tooling led the day’s developments. Open Jarvis emphasized that local models need more than weights: effective agents depend on tool access, orchestration, and feedback loops. Magnitude similarly targeted real-world deployment with a self-optimizing inference engine tuned to each machine, while Daytona brought isolated execution environments to Convex applications. Experimental work also continued beyond transformers, with PSSA presenting a Rust-built language model based on recurrent state-space processing and episodic memory.

The supporting AI stack is becoming faster and more specialized. NVIDIA detailed deployments for HSTU generative recommendation systems, automated GPU bottleneck detection through TraceLens, and expanded storage access with cuObject and the SCADA Server SDK. Elsewhere, developers received practical guidance for running ONNX generative models with CUDA 13 and for using Ray at the upcoming PyTorch Conference. Torch Spyre’s integration with PyTorch’s cross-repository CI system showed how alternative accelerators can keep pace with upstream changes.

Operational maturity was another clear theme. Teams shared approaches to Terraform-managed delivery from GitHub to AWS, richer data-platform testing in GitHub Actions, and sub-10-second incident detection using OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Flink, and Kubernetes. GitHub’s enforcement of minimum self-hosted runner versions added urgency to maintenance, while agent regression testing highlighted the risks of silently changing model aliases.

Security concerns remain close behind. Research introduced Branch Target Reuse, a Spectre-v2 technique affecting JIT engines, while analysis of backdoored LLMs warned that model scanning alone cannot guarantee production integrity.

Beyond AI, Gitea 28 dropped its historic “1.” prefix, Microsoft made WSL Containers generally available, and self-hosting gained fresh momentum through Songhive and new tools for monitoring Ollama deployments.

Open Jarvis: making local LLMs work as agents
